SOLD - Pin-Up Girl No.14

Pin-up no.14 is now complete. She's got a giant hat and an eye toward springtime, well maybe summer. I created a short video of this drawing. Check it out for some fun fast motion drawing action.

About The Artist

My name is Marty Owings. I live with my wife and kids in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I've been drawing pictures for as long as I can remember and I took up painting years ago. I draw and paint all kinds of subject matter including architecture, landscapes and portraits. I've taken art courses in college and I studied painting with the artist Amy Sands.

Some of the best things about art are learning the techniques involved in creating it, putting them into practice and then sharing the experiences. I think honesty about why you do art and why you share it is also important.

I share my work for a few reasons, partly because I hope it will help others create art. I also create art because creating things seems positive to me. I don't discriminate about which pieces of my art go on my site, I tend to put it all online. Some of it is purely for practice, some is just fooling around and if it comes out good, well then I must've gotten very lucky.

I keep thinking that if I work at it hard enough, someday I'll get better at it. I also like to learn from other people who are willing to share their experiences honestly. So leave a comment if you feel like it, just no SPAM please.

I go to school full-time, work full-time and when I'm not busy doing those two things, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and creating art. I also have an obsession with history, old objects, new technology and architecture.
